Overview
Use the Asset Import Tool to upload assets onto your properties, or edit existing assets. In order to upload assets, the property you are uploading the assets on must have the products added to the property before the upload can be done.
How to import assets
1. Navigate to the Records menu and select [Assets]
2. Select [+Import Assets]
3. Select [Download Property Template]
4. Select your property. More than 1 property can be selected if required.
5. Select [Download blank property template]
6. Select [Download Template]
7. Open the file. Property, Asset Number and Equipment are mandatory fields and are marked with an asterisk. Fill in all required fields using the drop-downs or text. Click in the cells for validation messages. Each product is listed on a separate sheet.
The property and equipment name must match those that are in FireMate, and these are selectable via a drop-down.
8. If your text does not meet the validation requirements, you will be shown a validation error message
9. Once you have entered the assets, save the spreadsheet and close it
10. Go back to FireMate and select [+Import Assets]
11. Select [Upload Property Assets]
12. Browse for your file, select it and select [Import Assets]
13. If successful, you will be shown the following message, click on the link to view the property's assets
14. If your import was not successful, no assets will be imported and you will have to download the export to view the error messages
15. The cells that are incorrect will be highlighted in red, rectify the problems, save and close the spreadsheet, head back to FireMate and upload the attachment again
How to edit existing assets
1. Navigate to the Records menu and select [Assets]
2. Select [+Import Assets]
3. Select [Download Property Template]
4. Select your property. More than 1 property can be selected if required.
5. Select [Download existing property assets]
6. Select [Downloade Template]
7. Open the spreadsheet and edit any fields required on the existing assets. Save and close the spreadsheet
8. Go back to FireMate and select [+Import Assets]
9. Select [Upload Property Assets]
10. Browse for your file, select it and select [Import Assets]
11. If successful, you will be shown the following message, click on the link to view the property's assets
12. If your import was not successful, no assets will be imported and you will have to download the export to view the error messages
13. The cells that are incorrect will be highlighted in red, rectify the problems, save and close the spreadsheet, head back to FireMate and upload the attachment again
